Dr. Tee's concierge practice will remain deliberately limited. A smaller panel is what makes real access possible. Membership closes when it is full.

Dr. Howard T. Tee has cared for Treasure Coast hearts for decades. He trained at Tulane University School of Medicine, completed his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University's Washington Hospital Center, and completed his cardiovascular fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

He previously served as Chief of Cardiology at Indian River Medical Center and as Cardiac Cath Lab Director for the Heart Center of the Treasure Coast. He performs hospital-based cardiac procedures at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.

His practice has always been built around one idea. Prevention, he believes, offers the best outcome. Concierge care is how he makes room for it.

Questions Patients Ask

 

What is concierge cardiology?

Concierge cardiology is a membership model. Instead of carrying a large patient panel, Dr. Tee limits the number of patients he accepts. In exchange for an annual membership, members receive direct access to him, longer appointments, faster scheduling and a level of continuity a conventional practice cannot offer. The medicine is the same. The access is different.

How is this different from the care Dr. Tee already provides?

The clinical expertise does not change. What changes is time and reach. Members get appointments scheduled around their lives, visits long enough to cover everything, and a direct line to Dr. Tee rather than a phone tree. For patients with complex cardiac histories, or lives that make conventional scheduling difficult, that difference matters.

What does membership cost?

Membership details, including cost, are discussed directly with Dr. Tee during your initial consultation. That conversation carries no cost and no obligation. He prefers to understand your situation first, so that what he describes is relevant to you rather than a figure on a page.

Do I still need my insurance or Medicare?

Yes. Members are required to maintain their existing insurance or Medicare coverage. Membership covers the enhanced access and services described on this page. Medically necessary services, diagnostic testing and procedures continue to be billed to your insurance or Medicare as they are today. Dr. Tee will review exactly how this works during your consultation.

Do I have to be a current patient of Dr. Tee's to join?

No. Concierge membership is open to new patients and to physician referrals. If you are already a patient, you are welcome to continue in his conventional practice or to inquire about membership. Either choice is respected.

What if I travel, or spend part of the year somewhere else?

Dr. Tee remains available to members by phone and through digital communication while you are away. If you need care where you are, he will coordinate directly with the appropriate local providers so that whoever treats you has the benefit of your history and his input. This is one of the clearest advantages of membership for seasonal residents and frequent travelers.

What happens if I need to be hospitalized?

Dr. Tee performs hospital-based cardiac procedures at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and remains involved in your care if you are admitted there, including communication with your family. If you are hospitalized elsewhere, he will coordinate with the treating physicians and stay engaged in your care from a distance.
